On the Mindful menu are healthy new recipes – but remember, healthy doesn’t have to mean light. It’s all a matter of food combination.
Salmon accompanied with lentils is a healthy yet non-hypocalorific dish. The calorific aspect is important because you don’t want to be hungry an hour after eating and start snacking. Mindful is adapted to each company. A company in which a lot of manual work is done needs to offer its workers heartier meals, for example.
Mindful has a very significant educational aspect. The dishes are explained to consumers. Each recipe is accompanied by a sheet with a photo and nutritional values. To pique people’s curiosity, tasting sessions are organised a few days before Mindful is launched in the company. These are all about showing that the dishes are tasty! In addition, one subject is put in the spotlight each month, such as the importance of Omega-3. Full information on the subject (benefits, sources, etc.) is communicated using various aids. Education is an important part of starting to live healthily.
Belgians consume too much salt every day. In light of this, Sodexo has decided to act. All its recipes now contain less salt than before. To prevent salt being added by mistake, kitchens were given a Salt Kit. This consists of a box containing 4 compartments – iodised salt, coarse salt, pepper and a space for pods of 5, 10 and 20 grams. The Salt Kit has been endorsed by the Belgian Society of Cardiology.
